China has the capability to manufacture laminated insulation materials.
After more than 50 years of development, China's insulation materials industry has initially formed an industrial system with a relatively complete range of products, relatively complete supporting facilities, and considerable production scale and scientific research capabilities. Especially entering the 21st century, with the rapid growth of the national economy and the rapid development of power generation, power transmission and transformation, and motor industries, the demand for insulation materials in China's domestic market has been strong. Currently, some products have reached a high level and have strong competitiveness in the international market, and in the latter part of the first decade of the 21st century, China became the world's largest producer of insulation materials.
In the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-2010) at the beginning of the 21st century, the installed capacity of power generation equipment in China increased by about 10% annually, and the rapid development of household appliances and railway construction provided greater space and market for China's insulation materials industry, especially laminated insulation materials. During this period, the output of environmentally friendly, energy-saving, and high-performance products increased rapidly. A number of new enterprises have made new improvements in both production scale and manufacturing technology. Insulation materials are widely used in electrical equipment, electronics, automobiles, aerospace, and other fields. In recent years, innovative applications of insulation materials have gradually become one of the key driving forces for China's sustainable energy solutions, and the state also attaches great importance to the development of insulation materials.
Firstly, the "National Medium and Long-Term Science and Technology Development Plan Outline (2006-2020)" issued in recent years in China proposes to focus on researching and developing high-performance composite materials and the preparation technology of large and ultra-large composite structural components that meet the development needs of national economic infrastructure industries. This shows that the development of high-performance composite materials has been listed as a priority topic for basic materials in China's manufacturing industry. Secondly, the "Guiding Catalog for Industrial Structure Adjustment (2005 Edition)" issued by the National Development and Reform Commission lists composite materials and functional polymer materials as industries encouraged by the state. In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Raw Material Development" issued in January 2011 states that the new materials industry is a leading industry in the materials industry and an important strategic emerging industry. Accelerating the cultivation and development of the new materials industry is of great strategic significance for supporting the development of strategic emerging industries, ensuring the construction of major national projects, promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and building new international competitive advantages. The widespread application of electrical equipment has brought broad development space for new materials: In recent years, driven by strong electricity demand, China's electrical equipment industry has entered a period of ultra-high-speed growth, with significant improvements in both scale and technology, and the industry is facing rare development opportunities. China's recent requirements for energy conservation and environmental protection have created huge opportunities for energy-saving and emission-reduction products in the electrical equipment industry.
With the arrival of a new wave of power investment boom, power transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing enterprises will be in full operation in the next few years, presenting a prosperous scene of both production and sales. However, the reliability and service life of core equipment such as transformers largely depend on the resin-based laminated/molded materials used. The performance requirements for laminated boards used in transformers, in addition to meeting the conventional requirements of mechanical strength, electrical performance, good heat resistance and moisture resistance, and good machinability, have higher requirements for heat resistance and arc extinguishing under high voltage in recent years to ensure better reliability during operation. For resin-based reinforced composite material manufacturers, the rapid growth of the power transmission and distribution equipment industry has injected strong impetus into the development of the entire industry. The rapid development of rail transit construction ensures strong demand for new materials: According to the national "Medium and Long-Term Railway Network Plan", by 2020, the national railway operating mileage will reach 100,000 kilometers, the main busy trunk lines will achieve passenger and freight separation, the double-tracking rate and electrification rate will both reach 50%, the transportation capacity will meet the needs of national economic and social development, and the main technical equipment will reach or approach the international advanced level. In addition, in the infrastructure investment plan issued by the state in recent years, about 1.8 trillion yuan will be invested in railways, highways, airports, and major infrastructure construction, of which railway investment is about 500 billion to 600 billion yuan.
With the acceleration of railway electrification, the new materials market will also grow rapidly. From the perspective of the entire insulation materials industry, developed countries such as the United States, Germany, and Switzerland developed earlier, and their insulation material products are at the world's leading level. Currently, the world's large insulation materials companies are mainly concentrated in the United States, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom, accounting for the vast majority of the international market share. In recent years, China's domestic insulation materials industry has developed rapidly, and compared with foreign manufacturers, it has a more obvious cost advantage. With the continuous improvement of the technical level of domestic insulation materials manufacturers, their share in the international market is increasing, and their international market competitiveness is gradually improving. Worldwide, the main manufacturers of laminated insulation materials are manufacturers of laminated insulation boards. Most of them are comprehensive chemical and chemical product manufacturers with strong technical capabilities and financial strength. The basic situation of major foreign laminated insulation board companies is shown in the table below. These companies are at the forefront of the world in terms of material manufacturing technology, production equipment, customer quality, and service level. Therefore, improving the technical level of domestic GPO-3 board production and manufacturing has become a very important task facing domestic GPO-3 board manufacturers.
According to surveys and statistics, there are currently about 60 enterprises in China with the ability to manufacture laminated insulation materials, and their production can operate normally, with an annual output of more than 200 tons. Among them, there are a total of 12 enterprises with an actual annual output of 1,500 tons. Their total output in 2010 accounted for 72% of the total output of laminated insulation materials in China, and the total sales of the 12 laminated insulation material enterprises accounted for about 74% of the total sales of such products in China. The statistics of the main domestic laminated insulation material manufacturers and their actual production in 2010 are shown in the table below. With the high voltage and large current of China's electrical equipment, fire prevention requirements are put forward for laminated insulation materials, as well as requirements for high voltage resistance and high strength, and the personalized demand for this material is getting higher and higher, requiring manufacturers to have stable production capacity of insulation materials while forming a development model with their own characteristics. Therefore, the laminated insulation material market is fully segmented, and each enterprise tends to specialize in the target market. At the same time, enterprises with strong technical capabilities and providing overall solutions for customers have obvious competitive advantages.
Currently, the laminated insulation materials produced by the issuer have entered companies such as CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive, CRRC, Siemens, Toshiba, Hitachi, General Electric, Alstom, and Schneider Electric. With the increasing requirements of customers for supporting manufacturers, the issuer has the ability to develop, design, and precisely process insulation systems, becoming a leading supplier of complete insulation system solutions.
